Sheldon has more than 28 years of experience in the relocations industry and has extensive knowledge of international household goods transportation. She previously held the position of procurement specialist with AIReS.

Chain Management Professionals, Lombard, Ill., presented Arthur Mesher, CEO of Descartes Systems Group, Waterloo, Ontario, with its 2008 M E S H ER Distinguished Service Award.
Utility Trailer Manufacturing, a manufacturer of dry freight vans, reefers, flatbeds and Tautliner curtain-sided trailers, appointed John Harris director of purchasing and logistics. Harris joined the company in 1988 and has held various positions within its purchasing department.
Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway, Bangor, Maine, appointed Donald Gardner Jr. vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer. He succeeds Fred W. Yocum Jr., who retired after 40 years in the rail industry. Gardner has been with the railway since 2005.
Foss Maritime, Seattle, named Vince Godfrey senior vice president for global services, a new position to support expansion by the maritime services group. A 23-year veteran of the barge and tug industry, Godfrey was vice president for sales and marketing at Marine Resources Group, Foss’ parent company.
CSX Transportation, Jacksonville, Fla., appointed Mike Smith vice president of network operations. He succeeds Jim Snyder, who retired. Smith began his career in 1973 as an operator with the Chessie System, and has held various leadership positions including general manager of network operations and
assistant division manager for the Jacksonville division. He most recently had been assistant vice president of crew management.
Estes Express Lines, Richmond, Va., named Manuel Reyes manager of its new terminal in Wausau, Wis.
Westfalia Technologies, York, Pa., a provider of plant and warehouse automation products, named Caio Seabra chief operating officer. Prior to joining the company, Seabra was the president/CEO of GEA PHE Systems. Before that he worked for Industrial Tools, GEA do Brazil, and Detroit, all located in Brazil.
Porter Capital, Birmingham, Ala., hired Troy Lillicrap as a transportation specialist. Lillicrap has nearly 20 years’ experience in the transportation industry. He will be based in Nashville and will cover Tennessee and the surrounding southeastern and Midwestern regions.
Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, Brentwood, Tenn., hired Brent Blake as senior vice president of strategic finance, planning and development for its Barthco International division. Blake most BLAKE recently worked for Burger King, where he served as senior director of finance and MIS for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Wesupply, London, named supply chain software veteran Oliver Cooper its new nonexecutive member of its board of directors. Cooper is the president and CEO of Simtrol.
Faneuil, Boca Raton, Fla., a support services provider for tolling operations, named Evelio D. Suarez vice president of business development. Suarez most recently worked for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, a division of the Florida Department of Transportation, where he was director of toll operations.
AMB Property, San Francisco, named Ben M. Cornish senior vice president and chief operating officer for China, a new position for the industrial real estate developer and manager. Cornish, 39, had been president of GMS China, a developer of retail properties in China. He was also in charge of China real estate development for Wal-Mart for five years and worked before that for Koll Development and Trammell Crow.
Crowley Maritime, Jacksonville, Fla., named Cole Cosgrove vice president of marine personnel, a new department in the company. Cosgrove joined Crowley in 1987 as a port captain in the ship operations group overseeing Crowley’s U.S. and foreign-flag vessels and crews. Cosgrove became general manager and formed the ship management group to oversee third-party vessel operations in 2005.
The Port of Tacoma, Wash., named Alyce Benge contracts manager. Benge was director of purchasing services for the Issaquah, Wash., School District, and earlier was a procurement unit manager for the state government.

Hong Kong-based logistics company Trans Global Logistics named Peter Lam to the new position of corporate director of air freight. Lam has more that 24 years of air freight sales and management experience. He joins TGL from Virgin Atlantic Cargo, where he was regional sales manager for Hong Kong and China. Before that he held senior positions with Star Airfreight and the Star Group of Companies, and BAX Global.
Elisabeth Barna, vice president of strategic planning and outreach for the American Trucking Associations, received the Trucking Association Executive Council’s J.R. “Bob” Halladay Award for her dedication to the trucking industry. Barna was honored at TAEC’s annual meeting in Whitefish, Mont.
